Chicago dessert blogger Jocelyn Delk Adams invites you into her kitchen for a wintry morning of whipping up the season's most delectable sweets

If there were ever an antidote to a wintry day, we’d wager it would be the warmth and coziness only an oven at work can bring. Just picture this: Frost on your windowpanes and you there with spatula in-hand, hauling fresh-baked cookies from oven to cooling rack. Sounds idyllic, no?

This is just the scene we were in for when we visited the kitchen of Chicago dessert blogger, Jocelyn Delk Adams. An homage to her grandmother, Jocelyn’s blog Grandbaby Cakes has become a place for her to record family recipes—and play with adding new renditions on old favorites. Each week, Jocelyn shares at least two new recipes with her readers, sending the baked outcomes to her family and friends.

“It’s a labor of love,” says Jocelyn of the blog. “It’s really become a passion and I love seeing the joy that people have been able to get from baking my recipes.”

Eggnog Cheesecake Cookie Bites
(makes 24 cookie bites)
1 package Pillsbury® Ready to Bake!™ sugar cookies
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup eggnog
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 tub whipped cream topping

Eggnog Iced Butter Cookies
(Makes 2-3 dozen)
For the Cookies

1 cup unsalted Land O' Lakes butter melted and cooled
1 1/2 cups granulated white sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder

For the Icing
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tablespoon eggnog (until pourable)
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Red Velvet Hot Chocolate Floats
(Makes 4 floats)
3 1/2 cups of milk (I use coconut milk)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup chocolate chips
1-2 teaspoons red food coloring
4 scoops of vanilla ice cream
